Illumination

Neon sunlight smiles upon velvet bark,
Accentuating olive greens.
The paved gray beyond,
Contrast to green splendiferous island
Rising from its' iron planting.
And but a freedom's stride 'cross noisy din
Should bring you to his brother
In arms, proudly flushed in all his eloquence.
A covering for humanity's mark:
Hip-hop artistry astride bedraggled brick.
And we too, these oasis' of refuge
Amongst the rough hewn places
Drip with the pulse of life.
Beacons in the passing of time,
Illuminated by the Sun.
