Jay Grimes
Jay Grimes began his studies with Joseph Pilates in the mid-sixties. After Joe’s death he continued with Joe’s wife, Clara, for another 10 years until her death. Jay began teaching in the original 8th Ave studio in New York, then moved with the studio to 56th Street where he taught alongside (as well as studied with) Romana Kryzanowska and John Winters. Over the years, Jay’s clients have ranged from stars of Broadway and Hollywood, music and opera, to politicians, businessmen and housewives. He currently provides ongoing training to instructors, conducting workshops and master classes around the world. He has made numerous TV appearances, including the Discovery Channel’s Fit TV with Marilu Henner, with whom he also made videos for her Body Victory program.
Peter Fiasca Peter Fiasca, Ph.D., founder of Classical Pilates Inc., is from Southern California and began the Pilates method during 1988 in New York City. He continued training with 1st generation master Pilates instructor Romana Kryzanowska and was certified by Romana in 1998. Over the years, Peter has continued to study with 1st generation master Pilates teachers Jay Grimes and Kathy Grant, as well as other notable instructors in the field. In addition to producing the well respected award-winning Classical Pilates Technique series of six DVD titles, Peter is a guest instructor at training centers all around the U.S. and internationally. Peter demonstrated Pilates, and periodically was a guest co-host on QVC cable television from 1997-2002. In 2001 Peter demonstrated a Pilates Mat workout taught by Romana Kryzanowska on her first commercial DVD project. During the 1980s & 1990s Peter earned two masters degrees as well as a Ph.D. degree in psychology, and worked at well respected health centers in New York City and the Philadelphia area until 2001. Since then Peter has devoted himself to helping preserve the traditional technique & spirit of Mr. Pilates’ original method.

Edgar Tirado
Edgar Tirado, founder of The Work Pilates Studio in Anderson, South Carolina, and creator of Tirado Pilates Apparatus complete line of traditional studio equipment, began studying the Pilates method in Atlanta in 1997, and was certified by Romana Kryzanowska in 1998. Edgar upholds the integrity of Mr. Pilates’ original method by teaching students in his beautiful 2000 square foot studio, training apprentices, giving workshops and seminars for instructors, as well as manufacturing Tirado Pilates Apparatus traditional studio equipment.
