Brand Development
Identity is the element that sets one apart from another, helping the observer to make decisions swiftly and sensibly. Metaphorically speaking, when one sees a white stripe on a back cat’s back, one knows to run. Whether you are an entrepreneur with a fresh idea, or a long-standing business with a desire to improve your image, you will benefit from a logo that: (1) symbolically expresses the your definitive unique selling point; and (2) communicates this idea to your consumer. The Optimistic Realism approach to branding begins with a thorough exploration of what distinguishes your organization and what your audience values. We place your distinct identity into your brand identity, with the imagery, color, and typography that is you. Brand development services include: logo design, corporate identity, name development, and brand image creation.
Logo: The name, BodyLove, demands a particular control of tone due to sexual connotations associated with the words "body" and "love." Optimistic Realism understood the client’s true intention with the name: support and nurture the physical qualities of people to help them to look and feel their best. With this in mind, O.R. designed a tastefully elegant logo with a sense of panache. View the logo.
Logo: Common Ground is an organic produce farm in Arlee, Montana. The Common Ground logo appeals to a liberal, environmentally-conscious target audience. The painter's pallette that encloses this logo is representative of the colorful adornment of vegetation, and the white, rounded object seen in the composition is a shape commonly seen on farms in the mountain region: a cold frame, which is similar to a greenhouse. 03 Logo: Montana Fresh and Local is a wholesale produce distributor. Optimistic Realism created this in accompaniment with a marketing campaign designed to increase awareness about the availability of fresh and local produce. The placement of this logo ranged from 1" stickers on berry cartons to enormous billboards painted on the exterior sides of produce stands. View the logo.
Logo: Visual Learning Systems is a computer software firm. The graphic image used in this logo is a uniquely rounded Penrose triangle, an optical illusion seen in the work of M.C. Escher, and dubbed, "impossibility in its simplest form." The shape is illustrative of the characteristic aspects of VLS: optical, intelligent, sophisticated, and multi-dimensional. View the logo.
Logo: Apex Building Services is a construction company. Apex had a specific idea in mind when they approached Optimistic Realism to develop the brand: a colorful house with an "A" for "Apex" at the top. O.R. met these requests and presented the company with several options for color schemes, along with the symbolism associated with each color. View the logo.
Logo: The Missoula Raptors are a semi-professional sports team. The Raptors entered the Rocky Mountain Football League in 2004, and this logo was designed for football helmets, jerseys, merchandise, and, of course, promotional items. View the logo.
Logo: Scrapper is a recording artist. This trademark symbol is unique in its puzzle-like assembly of letters that spell out the name artistically, similar to the style of this musician's songs: experimental, strong in double-meaning, and simple in presentation yet intricate in its underlying imagery. 08 Logo: T4U is a T-shirt design and printing company. In T4U apparel, the message is shifted in order to speak to the wearer of the shirt as opposed to the audience. Realizing that T-shirts have made people into walking advertisements, T4U reverses the device and proposes T4U (Tee For You), with positive messages that are legible to the T-shirt wearer when looking in the mirror or when looking down at the chest, etc. View the logo.
Logo: Badlander is a tavern in Missoula, Montana. The name Badlander conjures images of rugged territory: prickly pear cacti, rattlesnakes in sage brush, high desert plains, or red canyons. This sounds like a bar for a cattle rustler, or another type of ruffian. O.R. artist, Cabe lindsay, bore these ideas in mind with this logo: old-fashioned style with a touch of modernism, as the bar's owners requested. View the logo.
Logo: Bob On A Twig, also known by the acronym, BOAT, is the name of a small restaurant specializing in shish kebabs. The company caters events with healthy, delicious "bobs," made exclusively from locally-grown meat and produce. View the logo.
Logo: Care Options for Kids is a day management program for children with special needs. The client envisioned a fun, clean, and contemporary brand that would appeal especially to children. O.R. artist, Cabe Lindsay, designed an exciting, bubbly logo for CO4K, colored vibrantly in red, green, and purple – the client’s suggested color scheme. This logo was designed and developed by O.R. artist, Cabe Lindsay, as an employee of Prizm Development, not Optimistic Realism. View the logo.
Logo: Colors Flying is a copywriting agency. Portraying the company with meaningful symbolism and typography, this logo helped to establish a sense of professionalism and familiarity by appearing on all of the firm's stationery, business cards, letterheads, etc. View the logo.
Logo: The Poobracing concept originated when Laura Abbene noticed a refrigerator magnet that spelled out the word 'poob', which turned out to be the word 'good', upside-down. Today, Poobracing is a way of life enjoyed by creative people who embrace the motto: Be real with what you feel. View the logo.
